Charlize Theron founded the company in 2003 and named it after her two dogs, Denver and Delilah.
The company's film productions include *Monster* (2003), *East of Havana* (2006), *Sleepwalking* (2007), *Young Adult* (2011), *Atomic Blonde* (2017), *The Old Guard 2* (2025), and, in 2026, *Apex* (with Netflix).
In 2013, the company signed with Bunim/Murray Productions to develop and produce unscripted television programming. In 2015, Denver & Delilah signed a first-look deal with Universal Cable Productions to develop and produce scripted series for NBC Universal.
The company subsequently hired Laverne McKinnon as Head of Television Series. Beth Kono and A.J. Dix also collaborated with Charlize on these projects.
One project currently in development—with comic book writer Greg Rucka—is an adaptation of the stop-motion animated comedy web series
